WANTED:
Great Oldies tunes you never hear anymore!

These two fellas are "On the Hunt" and YOU can help!

Pictured above is the CoolVibe broadcasting team of Tim (left) and Dennis; proving once again they have the perfect faces for radio! But don't let their modest and unassuming appearances fool you. These guys are on a lifetime mission to dig up memorable tunes from the 50's, 60's, and 70's Oldies Era that seem to have vanished from the face of the earth. They will never give up! Sounds more like a personal problem, doesn't it? But loyal to their cause, Dennis and Tim hope you enjoy hearing those long-lost Oldies and the stories behind them, as much as they enjoy bringing them to you!

As a fan of the CoolVibe show, think about this. Maybe YOU have some long-lost or forgotten 45s or LPs of your own, tucked away somewhere in your house? Take a minute to find and flip through your collection. Half of them you probably forgot you even owned! Who knows? You might find an old "Gem"! If you think you found one, do the right thing and share it..right here..with Dennis and Tim!

    1. Ben, be sure to tell your Dad, THANKS and BTW, tell him that we want him to remember to listen to our little program! Weekdays 7:30am or 5:30pm.

There are so many great tunes in that list, including some we would no doubt look up and feature. I can tell you one I've been wanting to do for a long, long time..."White Bird" by It's a Beautiful Day. Now that you brought it back to mind, I'll make sure we feature it!

But this brings up the way Tim and I go about featuring a song. The criteria we use is fairly simple: The song's era should hover in the 50's, 60's and up through somewhere around 1977 and 1978 at the most. We try to avoid certain but not all Classic Rock type songs. Led Zeppelin would be one example. (Personally, I love early Zeppelin stuff. Tim could give a rip about them!) The other very important factor to determine how a song gets featured is whether it's currently on Cool 101's playlist. A good example of this might be "Wild Thing" by the Troggs. I'm fairly sure Cool 101 plays that song. We always double check that before proceeding with a featured artist and song. We want to make sure our featured songs don't get heard very often. Thanks Ben and say hey to your Dad! Watch for future blog posts!!! Regards, Dennis
